Final Exam Information (Important)

The MATH 140 final will take place on Wednesday, December 14 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. It will be held at Tawes Hall, room 0236. Be sure to at least know the location of Tawes Hall before December 14. Ideally, you should also visit the room before the exam date. Plan to arrive 20 minutes early. Exams will be collected from you at 3:30pm regardless of what time you arrive.

The final exam is cumulative. You may be asked about any topic learned throughout this semester.

If you have a valid reason for missing the final. Contact Tim (tjp@math.umd.edu) as early as possible. Do not contact me for this reason.

Please bring with you:

  • Your University ID Card
  • At least two writing utensils

When you enter the exam room, please sit at a desk with a packet of answer pages. Before the exam starts, fill out the information in the answer pages. Number your answer sheets 1 through 9 where it says "Prob #". On each page, put your name, your course number (140), your section number (0332), and my name (Reynald Oliveria) on the corresponding blanks. On the first page, copy and sign the honor pledge. These directions will be on the board. Use exactly one answer sheet per problem on the final exam.

You may use the front and the back of the answer sheet. Please show all your work as clearly as possible. If the problem has multiple parts, please denote which part you are working on clearly.

Once you have started your exam, you will not be allowed to leave the exam room until you submit your exam. So, please take care of your needs before the exam starts.

No books, notebooks, calculators, cell phones, earphones, headphones, digital watches, or other electronic devices will be allowed. Consider not bringing these items with you. If you do bring them, please turn off electronic devices and stow them off your person before the exam begins. Leave your backpacks and belongings either in front of the room, or under your seat or desk in a way that does not obstruct walkways.

This page will be updated after the final exam with information that pertains to what comes after the final exam (like grades).
